Add a splash of colour to your home this Easter with these simple and effective Easter egg decorations. Use our wooden craft shapes and decorate with pastel acrylic paints and embellish with pretty ric-rac and metallic ribbons. We love the idea of hanging them from a woodland branch or even use them as gift tags for your Easter presents. Take a look at our easy step-by-step tutorial below.
Tip: Do you have a ribbon stash at home? Then why not use up your ribbons to decorate our blank wooden eggs. If you are looking to create gift tags you can personalise using a gel pen or biro. Simply write directly onto our wooden shapes.
Wooden Easter Eggs Mixed Sizes: 8cm & 10cm.
Ribbons: Ric-Rac & Metallic Ribbon. Scissors to cut.
Acrylic Paint: Colours used Pink Chiffon, Lilac & Blue Chiffon.
Step 1: Paint both sides of the eggs in pastel tones. We would recommend two coats for a perfect finish. Leave until dry.
Step 2: Cut a selection of coordinating ribbons slightly wider than the Easter eggs. Use PVA to glue the ribbons onto the egg. We would recommend slightly easing the ribbon into a curve as you press the ribbon down, this way it creates dimension. Leave the glue to dry completely then take a sharp pair of scissors to snip off the ends.
Step 3: Cut metallic ribbon to 23cm and thread through the hanging hole. Tie a secure knot. Now your ready to decorate your home!
