Imagination is key when it comes to dinosaurs and so these ferocious creatures make fabulous crafting shapes to embrace your creativity. The cultural fascination with dinosaurs has most definitely crossed over into the crafting community and we’re more than happy to get involved! We’ve shrunk these huge and dangerous pre-historic animals down to what can only be described as ‘cute’ and created the perfect wooden shapes and embellishments for any craft project, Jurassic-themed or otherwise. With the summer holidays just around the corner, these dinosaur shapes make a great crafting project for kids to get involved in too!
Here are a couple of ways you can decorate your wooden dinosaur shapes…
If you’re all about realism then take a look at our wide range of colourful inks and botanical stamps to create something with an authentic nature-theme. As seen in the image above, we love to use our Aloe Vera, Tea Leaves and Pearlescent Ivy ink pads to bring our ever-popular dinosaur-shapes to life! To add character to your shapes, we recommend using our Fern Leaf Rubber Stamp for an extra wild touch.
Our fun dinosaur embellishments can also be made into adorable brooches that are sure to attract attention! Simply use a hot glue gun to attach the pin to your wooden embellishment. For these brooches, we’ve turned away from traditional colours and used Purple Hydrangea, Pearlescent Orchid and Pink Petunia ink pads for a pretty background, and to highlight these bright and beautiful colours even more, we’ve sprinkled touch of glitter using PVA glue.
If you aren’t obsessed with dinosaurs, chances are you know someone who is. We believe applying our animal embellishments to handmade cards are a great, personal touch to your celebratory wishes.
Why not take a look at our range of beautifully handmade Japanese Papers. Made in the heart of Japan, these papers add value and luxury to all your craft projects.
We recommend using Bubble Flower Green, Scandi Green or Desert Grass to showcase a Jurassic-theme. You can watch our tutorial on how to decoupage here.
