This weekend we opened our first outlet shop in Surrey and we’re still buzzing with excitement! Thanks to all those of you who visited us on Saturday, we thoroughly enjoyed inviting you into our brand new studio space! If you couldn’t make it, here’s a quick rundown of the day…
The launch was a fabulous success with a mixture of new and familiar faces filtering through our doors from the moment we opened. Here you could shop our entire range of signature birch wood products, including our hanging heart bunting, the ever-popular wooden embellishments and of course, our trademark collection of Christmas decorations and gifts. Those who visited also had a first look at our brand new products: our novelty unicorn and rainbow shapes, mini elephant and flower craft kits and our dinosaur and bee embellishments – all of which are now available online!
Throughout, we ran regular make & takes where visitors had a choice to create either a floral wreath, coaster or hanging flower decoration in the heart of our brand new studio. These workshops were the perfect opportunity to learn the 3 main techniques for working with our wooden shapes. This included a step-by-step demonstration on how to stamp onto the birch wood, colour using ink pads and apply Japanese papers using our novel sandpaper technique.
The drop-in workshops both welcomed newbies to the wonderful world of crafting and encouraged more experienced crafters to put their expertise to work! (A special thanks to Carole for running the make & takes and to Cathy, without whom we would have had no tea!)
All-in-all, we’re really grateful to everyone that came and we hope you left inspired. The shop was packed with crafters, a lovely sight to see and so, thank you for supporting us on our new venture as we continue to spread our own crafting passion out into the world.
